This is Life Unfiltered is a weekly podcast that focuses on all things social media, mental health, and more. As Alexa says about her podcast:
“When I started This is Life Unfiltered, I had no clue what the next year would bring. The journey from the beginning of episode 1 to the beginning of episode 56 has come with its fair share of ups and downs.”

- Interviews. Alexa Curtis interviews a versatile range of influencers and successful people from a range of categories, mostly from younger demographics. Her most recent discussion was with one of the founding fathers of rap. Pretty awesome!
- She’s a powerhouse. Her drive and passion is present in each podcast. She’s exactly the type of person you would want providing tips on how to live the best life, considering she has been an entrepreneur since the age of 12.
- She uses 99designs. Alexa teamed up with designer curiouscase to redesign her TILF podcast cover. 2. Jenna Kutcher

Goal Digger is a live-workshop style business podcast that helps thousands of listeners redefine success and chase bolder dreams. Her podcast gives listeners the chance to listen to life experts on how to dig in, do the work and tackle their biggest goals along the way.
What we like about this podcast
- Her personality. Jenna is clearly a very down-to-earth host with a great voice to listen to. She keeps things real, and offers great practical marketing-focused advice for creative entrepreneurs.
- She is proof that you can achieve your dreams. Jenna Kutcher actually started her career in an unconventional way. She purchased a used camera off Craigslist, which ultimately led to a multi-million dollar photography empire. Pretty impressive if you ask us!
3. Krista Williams & Lindsey Simcik

Krista Williams and Lindsey Simcik are 2 young adults who―inspired by the transition from their twenties to thirties―created the Almost 30 Podcast.

The podcast is a great resource for young adults and features conversations about topics like wellness, entrepreneurship, spirituality, and self-development.
The mission of these two is simple―to provide listeners with the tools and motivation they need to propel their personal growth and navigate any transition in their lives.
What we like about this podcast
- The enjoyment we get from listening. Almost 30 is fun to listen to and covers a range of topics that expand beyond just entrepreneurship. Both ladies discuss hilarious freestyle stories along the way to break up the more serious advice.
- The realness of it. Krista and Lindsey record every episode all in one go, without any cuts or edits. As Krista puts it, “We use every part of the conversation and interview and we haven’t ever cut anything yet.” Plus, they record out of a makeshift studio in Lindsey’s kitchen! We love the authenticity of it—their story is definitely one for aspiring podcasters to learn from.
The process of failures, vocal lessons and auditions led me to Lindsey, which led us to start a podcast about transitions and the in-between time in life.
Krista explains, “Almost 30 Podcast actually started when I was going for what I thought to be my dream job at SoulCycle. What stopped me from getting the job was that I wasn’t comfortable on the microphone in the room.”

4. Jen Gotch

Jen Gotch started out juggling multiple different creative careers such as blogging, food and prop styling, and her true passion—photography. She also founded Ban.Do, a successful clothing and accessory company currently taking the world by storm.
Jen Gotch is also a stand-out life coach who keeps things down-to-earth and real on engaging topics such as how to tackle anxiety and how to remain resilient through trying times. As she describes it, her podcast is “kinda weird, original, funny, and honest.” Jen Gotch is OK… Sometimes aims to help listeners build their emotional intelligence, and feel less alone in the big scary wide world. We think it’s a brave, enjoyable show you shouldn’t miss out on.
What we like about this podcast
- Humor! Jen is able to strike a really great balance between serious and lighthearted content. Listening to her podcast feels like being her friend and she is highly personable in the delivery of her content. In her own words she expresses her mission as to be “the friend you never met.”
- She keeps it real. She is highly personable and calm discussing difficult topics such as anxiety and depression. Mental health is a serious subject and difficult to discuss for many. Jen Gotch is honest and open about the subject, discussing it in a way that shows comfort and understanding. Her podcast is a fantastic resource.
- Her network. Jen is part of the uber cool Girlboss network, a network that exists to help redefine success for millennial women by providing the tools and connections they are searching for in order to take command of their futures. All of the shows on their roster are fantastic resources for entrepreneurial women.
5. Cortney Cleveland & Joymarie Parker

Cortney Cleveland and Joymarie Parker are childhood friends who started the Joblogues podcast to speak about career choices and entrepreneurship with young professionals from across the globe.
The podcast has a highly engaged audience of multicultural women who tune in monthly to get the best career advice, inspiration, and lots of laughs.
What we like about this podcast

- They are genuine. Each conversation within the podcast feels real, candid, and easy to listen to. They discuss serious topics without feeling the need to go over-the-top.
- Interviews. John August is an author who is most famous for being a screenwriter. He is behind many successful pieces of work such as Charlie’s Angels, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Frankenweenie. He has also written and directed the 2007 movie The Nines. Definitely a man of many talents!

While writing his own novel, he decided to record the process he was going through and create the podcast Launch to detail his experiences and record interviews with different people involved in the process.

- His experience across several different types of writing. John August has experience writing across many different mediums. His knowledge of screenwriting, directing, and noveling means he is a fantastic resource for all aspiring writers out there who are looking to achieve different things.
- His step-by-step guide. Launch was created to provide listeners with a guide for holding their hand through the process of what it takes to go from start to finish in the writing of a book. The podcast does exactly that and is an incredible resource for all aspiring authors out there.
8. Sara Dietschy

- The connection with social media. While this is not directly related to the podcast, Eric Thomas’ Instagram is unique to his character, featuring encouraging and motivational posts that connect really well with his podcast.
- Each podcast is accompanied by a written summary. Listeners are able to see and understand what they can expect to take away from each episode. This also serves as a form of note taking for listeners, so they are able to better internalize the key points of each episode.

- He keeps it real. Lewis is an amazing host with a genuine following. He’s really impactful.
- His guests are awesome. Lewis features some of the greatest minds out there and personalities that really connect with a wide range of listeners. Most recently he sat down with former paralympic silver medalist and motivational speaker Amy Purdy to discuss overcoming life’s physical challenges and how to be your best self. Powerful stuff.
- He discusses his own flaws and accomplishments on a personal level. Lewis really connects with his listeners and frequently talks about challenges he has been forced to overcome in his life. A great episode in particular came at the end of last year when Lewis openly discussed his biggest wins and losses of the past year.
